The Service Collects Your Information
Personal Information Collection. You must register to use the Service. To register, you will need to provide information, such as your name and email address. If you are a Client, you must also provide your zip code and create a password. If you are a Jopper, you must also provide your address, bank account information, phone number, date of birth, licenses and certifications, social security number, and create a password.
Social Sign-On. If you are a Client, you may sign in through a third party using your credentials for that third party’s website. If you do, then we collect information about you. For example, we may collect the information you have made publicly available on the third party website. The information we receive from these third parties is governed by the third parties’ privacy policies, and you should review these third parties’ privacy policies to learn about the privacy and data security practices.
Background Checks. When you register as a Jopper, you may have to provide information to our third-party service provider to facilitate background checks.
Using the Services. We collect information you post on or through the Service. For example, when you interact with other users by submitting a review or chatting with other users, the Service will collect the information you provide in such submissions.
Making and Receiving Payments. When you make or receive payments through the Service, you will need to provide information to our third-party service providers, such as your credit card or bank account number.
Customer Support. We collect information that you provide to us through your communications with our customer-support team.
Location Information from Your Mobile Device. We may collect and store your location information if you enable your mobile device to send it to us. Collection of this information may improve the provision of the Service.
Other Device Information. We receive information from devices you use to connect to or the Service. The information we receive from your device may include IP address, operating system, device information.
Cookies, Automatic Data Collection, and Related Technologies. The Service collects and stores information that is generated automatically as you use it, including your preferences and anonymous usage statistics.
When you visit the Service, we and our third-party service providers receive and record information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, and from cookies and similar technology. Cookies are small text files placed in visitors’ computer browsers to store their preferences. Most browsers allow you to block and delete cookies. However, if you do that, the Service may not work properly.
How JOP Uses Your Information
Providing the Service. We use the information we collect to provide, personalize, and improve the Service.
Internal and Service-Related Usage. We use information, including unique identifiers, for internal and service-related purposes, such as data analytics
Communications. We may send email to the email address you provide to us to verify your account and for informational and operational purposes, such as account management, customer service, or system maintenance. We may also send you mobile text messages if you provide your mobile phone number or push notifications if you enable us to do so. Examples of these messages include: (1) welcome and engagement messages; (2) a text message to enable you to verify your telephone number; (3) service-related messages such as notifications, confirmations, updates, and security alerts; and (4) promotional messages. By providing your mobile phone number to Jop, you consent to receive text messages from Jop to such mobile phone number.
Marketing. We may use information about you to facilitate transmittal of information that may be useful, relevant, valuable or otherwise of interest to you.
Aggregate Data. We may anonymize and aggregate data collected through the Service and use it for any purpose.
JOP May Disclose Your Information
Facilitating Projects. In order to facilitate Projects, we must provide the Jopper with some information about a Client, including first name and last initial, a contact phone number, and address. Clients will receive a Jopper’s first name and last initial and a contact phone number.
We Use Vendors and Service Providers. We may share any information we receive with vendors and service providers retained in connection with the provision of the Service. One of the service providers that we use for data analytics is Google Analytics. If you do not want Google Analytics to collect and use information about your use of the Services, then you can install an opt-out in your web browser (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/).
Displaying to Other Users. Any User Content you post to the Service may be displayed on the Service and viewable to other users and the general public. We are not responsible for privacy practices of the other users who will view and use the posted information.
Aggregate Data. We may share or disclose anonymized and aggregated data collected through the Service.
Social Networking and Other Websites. The Service may allow you to share information with social networking websites, such as Facebook. We do not share your information with them unless you direct the Service to share it. Their use of the information will be governed by their privacy policies, and you may be able to modify your privacy settings on their websites.
With Your Consent. We may also disclose your information with your permission.
CHOICES YOU HAVE WITH YOUR INFORMATION
Opt-out. You can unsubscribe from promotional emails from us via the unsubscribe link provided in the email. Even if you opt out from receiving promotional messages from us, you will continue to receive administrative messages from us.
Changes to you information. If you would like to update or correct any information that you have provided to us through your use of the Service, please send an e-mail to email@example.com.
DO NOT TRACK
Some web browsers incorporate a “Do Not Track” feature. Because there is not yet an accepted standard for how to respond to Do Not Track signals, our website does not currently respond to such signals.
Security of Your Information
We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use information from children under 13 years of age, and no part of the Service is directed to children under the age of 13. If you learn that your child has provided us with information without your consent, you may alert us at firstname.lastname@example.org. If we learn that we have collected any information from children under 13, we will promptly take steps to delete such information and terminate the child’s account.
If you are visiting from a country outside of the United States, please note that you are agreeing to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States. By providing your information you consent to any transfer and processing in accordance with this Policy.
